After picking out this ethnic yet neutral print for a piece for the floor, I ran across the same print on the shade of a lamp from one of my favorite manufacturers.
How could this be? What are the chances? I couldn't help but put them together. Matching is so unlike my personal taste, but I like the unexpected element it would bring to a room. I would balance it by having other pieces not matching in the room, like the side tables or coffee table...mixing wood and mirror.
Designers have been matching wall coverings, and fabrics for decades. And yes, this look could be percieved as dated. But, done intentionally with some restraint could be interesting... hmm?
